These sets are made in standard tension (3.4 Kg average for each string). The treble strings are made up of a high-performance bioplastic called "Sugar", which was discovered and developed by Aquila. The wound strings are made up of a red copper winding while the third strings of the Arabic set are wound with a grey colored metal blend. The balanced tone and feel of these Oud strings are unique to Aquila. The improvements made in the materials and construction of this set also helps minimize the squeaks and chirps that might be caused by the fingers rubbing against the strings.
