About Faye Webster
When indie soft rock meets the Atlanta R&B scene, you get Faye Webster. The ATL native is carving out a growing niche by combining emotional instrumentation, personal yet playful lyrics and the occasional guest appearance from a hometown rapper — a call-back to her first musical venture in high school. Her two most recent albums have both cracked the top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart as more people embrace her distinct sound.
It's fitting that Faye’s music is unconventional as she has never done things the normal way. She self-released her first album at age 16, dropped out of the songwriting program at Belmont University and signed her first label deal with Awful Records. She’s become a symbol of “easy cool” right down to her guitars, which include the Harmony Stratotone Jupiter H49 and Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar.
What Guitar Strings Does Faye Webster Play?
To string those guitars for her expressive yet laid-back style, Faye Webster relies on an array of D’Addario strings. For a warm vintage sound, she uses D’Addario XL EPN115 Pure Nickel Jazz Rock Strings in an 11-48 gauge. These round-wound strings achieve a balanced “broken in” tone straight from the package.
When Faye needs something even more mellow, D’Addario XL Chromes Flat Wound Jazz Light Strings answer the call with a smooth feel and the added durability of stainless steel wrap wire. Conversely, if she wants to brighten things a bit, D’Addario EXL155 Blues Jazz Rock 11-49 Strings do so. D’Addario Custom Series 6” Flat Patch Cables let her connect effects pedals and draw every sonic detail.
