About Hunter Hayes

It’s not an exaggeration to say Hunter Hayes has been a famous musician all his life. He gave his first performance at age two, began making TV appearances at age four, and played for U.S. President Bill Clinton at age seven. The success has continued into adulthood with five Grammy nominations, multiple top-five singles, and a CMA award.

Hayes was born in Louisiana to Cajun parents and learned to sing in English and French as a child. That versatility has continued into adulthood with his music containing elements of country pop, alternative rock, blues, and R&B. Furthermore, he played every instrument (including guitar) on his debut major-label album — not to mention he’s written songs for Rascal Flatts and other acts. With nine full-length albums and numerous guest appearances, this child prodigy has shown he’s here for the long haul.

What Guitar Strings Does Hunter Hayes Play?

Hunter Hayes admits he’s hard on his guitar strings — so he needs a tough set that maintains a great sound. That’s why he’s used Ernie Ball Paradigm Regular Slinky Strings since they were introduced in 2017. These strings take the classic Slinky design and add ultra-high-strength steel, plasma-enhanced wrap wire, an Everlast string nano-treatment and a patented ball end reinforcement.

When the strings finally need changing, Hunter trusts the D’Addaro Guitar Pro-Winder. It speeds up string winding with a compact road-friendly design and a built-in clipper. And to hold his guitar during long shows, he relies on a comfortable D’Addario Woven Guitar Strap that has a black satin finish to match any outfit.
